CSC - IT Center for Science Ltd (CSC)
Finland
CSC - IT Centre for Science leads the national pilot in Finland. As a non-profit state enterprise with a special mandate, CSC strives to provide holistic solutions, serving the Finnish research community from planning to reporting and assessment. CSC coordinates the DMP Consortium, develops the FAIR data services and the national CRIS system, and hosts the funding application management tool of the prime funder, Academy of Finland. Both the national DMP Consortium and the Finnish National Open Science Coordination will be highly involved, assuring an even higher impact on the whole Finnish research community.
Role in the project
CSC is leading national pilot in Finland in WP4 on Task 4.2 of national pilots, and participates also to WP5 on community engagement on Task 5.2 - Training & Integrated Competence Centre. The focus of the national pilot in Finland is on data interoperability rather than on building specific solutions. The pilot will develop a national machine-actionable DMP (maDMP) template tailored for Finnish funders and local infrastructure that aligns the maDMP template with EU DMP standards (e.g., ERC, Horizon, Science Europe) and RDA standards. To ensure highly usable data model, the pilot collects use cases to digitalize the research data management process. Further data interoperability in enhanced to serve researchers, research institutes, and research funders more effectively.
The aim is to provide highly usable maDMP data model that will facilitate the use of maDMPs across 60 organisations in Finland. In this work we examine the required competences in the research ecosystem to utilize the machine actionability of maDMP data model and tools.
