ASFA-EURASLIC-GREYNET Joint Conference in Pisa

We’re excited to share that the OSTrails project will be featured at the upcoming ASFA–EURASLIC–GreyNet joint conference, taking place May 7–9, 2025, in Pisa, Italy. The conference explores how scientific communication practices are evolving—especially regarding grey resources like datasets, software, and technical documentation—and the shifting role of libraries in supporting open, transparent research.

A poster titled “Making Grey Literature FAIR: OSTrails and the Power of Scientific Knowledge Graphs” will present how OSTrails is addressing critical gaps in the Open Science and EOSC ecosystems. The project aims to enhance the visibility, discoverability, and strategic value of grey literature—such as Data Management Plans (DMPs), technical reports, and software—by transforming them into structured, machine-actionable outputs. OSTrails supports the publication and interlinking of these materials via persistent identifiers and Scientific Knowledge Graphs (SKGs), promoting reuse, recognition, and long-term accessibility.

Repositories and local databases are engaged as key entry points into this infrastructure, contributing contextualised metadata and linking grey outputs to broader networks of research activities and actors. This approach ensures that grey literature is not only preserved but actively contributes to a transparent and interconnected scientific knowledge base.

This contribution highlights the importance of collaborative infrastructures and institutional repositories in ensuring that grey literature becomes a visible, citable, and reusable part of the scientific ecosystem.

This work is the result of a collaborative effort by contributors from several key institutions involved in OSTrails.
